Davin de Kergommeaux

Davin de Kergommeaux is the author of the award-winning book Canadian Whisky: The Portable Expert and the upcoming Canadian Whisky: The NEW Portable Expert. He has also contributed to five other books about whisky, and two about spirits and cocktails. Following six university years studying whisky grains, Davin's early careers making bricks, playing music and tending gardens, Alley-Ooped left into social development in Canada and poverty reduction abroad. An independent whisky expert, and one of the earliest Malt Maniacs, de Kergommeaux has been writing about, talking about, and teaching about whisky for nearly two decades. He is the founder, head judge, and master of ceremonies for the Canadian Whisky Awards, and publishes comprehensive notes about Canadian whiskies on canadianwhisky.org. His writing and tasting notes appear regularly in various spirits and lifestyle publications. De Kergommeaux lives in Canada and writes full time.
