Taster   Arthur Motley
Nose: Creamy, medical peatiness, like lint bandages or plasters. There's a good sweetness behind, with lemon bonbons and sponge cake. A bit of spice.
Palate: Coal tar soap, and that vanilla creaminess is there, but cut through by a light creosote and some wood.
Finish: A little smoke, but relatively light and short.
Comment: Good young Islay, with an enticing nose.

Taster   Dave Broom
Nose: Very pale and prickly. Seems young and edgy with big seashore aromas. Drying fishing nets with a certain sweetness behind raffia, peat fire, oyster shells. Water adds a little depth and brings out a bitumen/freshly laid road note.
Palate: Softer than the nose suggests. Light oiliness and robust smokiness.
Finish: Oats.
Comment: A good, clean Laphroaig. Not exceptional, but true to character.
