Taster   Chris Goodrum
Nose: Quite youthful with fishy, briny, sugar coated barley, gentle medicinal peat and seaweed. Powerful but gentle with developing tar, manure and dusty peat.
Palate: Opens with gently sweetened barley, hints of brine and restrained sooty peat. Not as forceful as the nose but pleasantly subtle. Again it feels quite young with a salty, tart citrus middle.
Finish: Tart, citric and salty, underpinned by the sweet barley. Quite mouth-watering with lingering menthol and bog myrtle notes.
Comment: Comments: A lovely, young Islay with plenty of sweet barley to balance the coastal astringency.

Taster   Charles Montanaro
Nose: Delicate peat kiln, tropical fruits and citrus: lemon, orange, pineapple, honeysuckle. Delicately fierce.
Palate: Light smoke, cookie dough, fresh barley. An attractive sweetness to it finishing on a salted caramel tone.
Finish: Long and light, picturing a dwindling fire, with a very thin streakof smoke.
Comment: Well balanced, not abrasive, great for a winter’s eve.
