A very good time of the year to splash out on a really good book and I was very impressed with The Scotch Whisky Treasures by Tom Bruce-Gardyne which recently came into the office. What is unusual is that it contains 20 pieces of removable memorabilia – including a facsimile of the Exchequer Roll granting Friar John Cor the right to purchase malt to make aqua vitae way back in 1494. It’s a long time since a book of this nature has been published, and I would recommend that you at least look at it if you can in your local bookshop before purchasing.\r\n\r\nPlease make sure that you visit our website, as detailed below, to get the best deals on all of these great reads, and other books.\r\n\r\nThe Scotch Whisky Treasures

The book groups Bourbon into four main flavour profiles – grain, nutmeg, caramel and cinnamon. While many Bourbons boast all four flavour notes, one delicious sensation typically overpowers the rest. This books uncovers more than 50 brands’ dominant tastes and suggests cocktail recipes to complement them. In addition, the author spends some time busting Bourbon myths, unravelling its mysteries, exploring distiller secrets and disclosing the recipes you won’t find on a bottle’s label. Bourbon is becoming more ingrained in the culinary world with foodies and drink enthusiasts alike looking for a basic understanding of America’s favourite spirit. Job well done.
