Launched in December 1896 from Port Glasgow, the Glenlee is a former merchant sailing vessel and the last remaining three-masted Clyde-built ship still afloat in the UK. It is a fifteen-time veteran of Cape Horn and a survivor of two World Wars and a civil war.
Over the last 125 years, the Glenlee has adapted from a global trading vessel to an icon of shipbuilding and a unique piece of maritime heritage. It is now berthed on the River Clyde in Glasgow.
The celebratory blended Scotch was created using single malt and grain whiskies from distilleries around Scotland – Orkney, Islay, Speyside and Lowland. The brand describes it as a smooth and multi-layered dram possessing notes of pears, sultanas, spices, caramel and more.
A proportion of the global sales of The Glenlee Blended Scotch and this new 125th anniversary edition are donated to The Clyde Maritime Trust, the registered charity that maintains this historic ship for educational purposes and future generations.
