In March, the Whisky Magazine Awards 2020 were announced digitally for the first time ever. Usually presented at a gala dinner in London, our annual Awards event is an opportunity for the global whisky industry to come together in celebration, raise a dram to the achievements of the past year, and toast the successes to come.
Though this year we were unable to meet in person and share the evening’s excitement with our readers, we certainly won’t let that stop us from sharing a dram or dusting off our bow ties! To this end, we will be releasing 280 bottles (70cl) of an appropriately dressed limited edition single malt Scotch whisky that celebrates the partnership between The Glenturret and the Whisky Magazine Awards. More than that, it honours the dedication of all the hard-working men and women across the whole industry – the very people our Awards recognise each year.
In their name, in your name, and in honour of the party that never was, we will donate £10 from every bottle sold to The Ben (Scottish Licensed Trade Benevolent Society), a charity which supports former and current members of the drinks trade in their times of need — times like these.
The Glenturret IN SPIRIT 15 Years Old has been matured in a combination of ex Bourbon and ex sherry casks, and has been bottled at 40% ABV with natural colouring. This limited edition is available by ballot only and will retail for £125 per 70cl bottle plus P&P, with £10 per bottle sold donated to The Ben.
The ballot will be drawn on 15 May 2020 and successful entrants notified by email, at which time they will be emailed a no-obligation link to purchase.
In the meantime, all entrants will receive a 20% off discount code for The Glenturret online shop, valid until 15 May 2020, and a link to read the digital edition of the bumper Awards issue of Whisky Magazine (#166).
