The series comprises five single cask releases, of which two will be available exclusively in the UK. The casks were filled with Benromach's lightly peated spirit in 2011 and matured in the distillery's dunnage warehouses.
Of the two single casks earmarked for exclusive sale in the UK, only 590 bottles will be available from each with a recommended price per bottle of £95. These are Cask 771, bottled at 59.1% ABV, and Cask 772, bottled at 58.6% ABV. Tasting notes supplied by Benromach say the former has notes of Seville orange, chocolate, and raisin, while the latter has notes of forest fruits, toffee, and baked apple.
Keith Cruickshank, distillery manager at Benromach, said: "Polish oak has long been known for being a fantastic quality oak for whisky maturation, due to the strength and thickness of the wood, as well as the depth of character it brings to the flavour.
"This is something that can be seen in abundance in our recently released Polish oak single casks which have spent over a decade maturing in this wood, gifting the Benromach subtly smoky spirit with rich dried fruit, chocolate and toffee notes."
