One of the world's 11 bottles of Glenfiddich Janet Sheed Roberts Reserve 55 Years Old Scotch sold at auction recently for $52,000 setting a new record for Canada.

Scotch aficionados, Dave and Laurie (last name undisclosed) of Etobicoke, Ontario were thrilled to be the winning bidders supporting a cause dear their hearts. Close family members who served in World War II inspired the couple's desire to support Canada's armed forces.

All proceeds from this luxurious whisky will benefit WoundedWarriors.ca, a not-for-profit organisation that assists and improves the quality of life of wounded Canadian soldiers and helps their families as well.

"I'm truly overwhelmed with the level of support we've received from the William Grant & Sons family distillery through this auction and beyond," says Captain Wayne Johnston, founder of WoundedWarriors.ca."Every penny from this bottle's auction will go towards wounded Canadian soldiers and their families and I'm thrilled that the Grant's family has chosen to help."
