Bowmore unveils 2022 Design by Aston Martin collection

Bowmore Scotch Whisky has unveiled their second edition of its limited-edition Design by Aston Martin collection, following the success of its 2021 launch.

The latest collection, which will be available exclusively in global travel retail, features the collaboration of Bowmore’s GTR whiskies with the Aston Martin bottle and packaging. The three different packaging designs are said to highlight the evolution of Aston Martin.

The two have had a very successful partnership thus far, including the recent release of the Bowmore ARC-52 with a very unique but popular bottle design.

Three existing Bowmore 10-, 15- and 18-years-old single malts have been paired with a different Aston Martin bottle design, with each car allegedly matched with each whiskies’ characteristics.

Manuel Gonzalez, Brand Marketing Director for GTR at Beam Suntory, said, “We’re delighted to unveil the second in our striking Designed by Aston Martin range exclusively in GTR and once again, unite our exceptional exclusive travel retail whiskies with the incredible talent of Aston Martin’s design team. Following on from the success of the first in the Series, we know that this collaboration appeals to our consumers passing through the GTR channel and gives them a reason to engage and discover everything that is magical about Bowmore.”

The Bowmore 10 years old has an ABV of 40% and comes in with an RRP of $59. The producer has described the nose as having notes of sun-dried fruit, with a taste of sultanas, sea salt and dark fruit oils.

The 15 years old has both a slightly ABV and RRP – 43% and £80 respectively – with its smell described as Sicilian golden desserts with honey and its taste as having notes of silky citrus, salty-sweet vanilla and honeycomb.

The oldest of the three, the 18 years old, has an equal ABV to the 15 year old but a much higher RRP of $121, with a rich dark chocolate aurora described and notes of bitter-sweet orange on the palate.

The Designed by Aston Martin exclusive travel retail range will be available from August 2022 onwards, with key airport availability including London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Hainan, Istanbul and Taiwan.
