Bowmore Distillery has been 'capturing the essence of Islay' for more than 240 years, creating a single malt that the Bowmore team say is, 'defined, shaped and crafted by time.'
The 30-year-old release was distilled in 1989, before spending three decades in Sherry hogsheads and Bourbon barrels. Selected from just two casks each year, the single malt embodies the last thirty years in the very core of its character.
David Turner, Bowmore distillery manager, commented: “By adding an ongoing 30-year-old Bowmore to the portfolio, we are able to showcase how vital time spent in cask shapes and influences our spirit, making it even more exceptional and characterful. Each annual release will tell the rich stories of Bowmore, but importantly each will have their own unique style and character. As for this release, this is another perfect example of classic Bowmore but with boundless depth and intrigue reflecting the long-standing interaction of spirit and wood.”
With only 2,580 bottles available in 2020, Bowmore 30 Years Old captures the art of time and reflects its eternal connection with Islay.
