Buffalo Trace Distillery has released a new bourbon whiskey, ‘Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. 18 Year Old Marriage’, to pay tribute to former Distillery owner Colonel E. H. Taylor, Jr. The new limited-edition expression uses three different mashbill recipes - two rye bourbon, and one wheated bourbon – married together from three 18-year-old barrels.
The Colonel E. H. Taylor, Jr. collection came into being in early 2011 and has seen releases such as Single Barrel, Barrel Proof, Straight Rye Whiskey, and Small Batch Bourbon. A previous limited release, E. H. Taylor, Jr. Four Grain Bourbon, was named World Whiskey of the Year by renowned whiskey reviewer Jim Murray in 2018.
Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. is widely considered one of the founding fathers of the bourbon industry, he fought for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, nearly three decades after he purchased the distillery that is known today as the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
This new expression is strictly limited, like previous releases in the collection, and is a one-time-only bottling. The packaging is also consistent with previous releases and strikes a vintage tone with its label and distinct canister; it is designed to be reminiscent of Taylor’s whiskey package from over one hundred years ago.
This special bottling of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. 18 Years Old Marriage Bourbon Whiskey will be available starting in June in limited supply, at approximately $69.99 per 750 ml bottle.
