Bulleit Frontier Whiskey has announced its first single malt whisky: the Bulleit American Single Malt. The new expression joins Bulleit’s permanent range of whiskies.
Bulleit American Single Malt is distilled from malted barley and aged in charred new American white oak barrels, which Bulleit says has resulted in flavours of sweet vanilla and toasted oak. Further tasting notes from the brand highlight red fruit, oaky caramel, and cocoa notes.
The single malt is presented in post-consumer recycled glass bottle, as a testament to the brand’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. Previous efforts toward sustainability by Bulleit include its 2020 partnership with American Forests. As Whisky Magazine’s sister publication American Whiskey Magazine reported at the time, the collaboration was founded with the goal to plan one million trees over five years.
Jesse Damashek, senior vice president of whiskies and liqueurs at Bulleit parent company Diageo, comments: “Bulleit American Single Malt brings Bulleit’s restless innovation and passion for sustainability into this exciting new category that is set to make waves in the whisky industry for years to come.”
Damashek continues: “I believe we’ve succeeded in crafting a distinctive American single malt that whisky lovers across the country will savour and enjoy.”
Bulleit American Single Malt is available nationwide in the US, with a suggested retail price of US$59.99.
