Bushmills Irish Whiskey has unveiled the 2022 releases for its Causeway Collection, a series of rare single malts from the oldest licensed distillery, The Old Bushmills Distillery.
This is the third iteration of the Causeway Collection, following on the success of its 2021 and 2020 releases. Its name comes from the Giant’s Causeway, just a short distance away from the distillery, and is said to have been a source of inspiration for many of the previous master blenders.
The 2022 Causeway Collection features 10 expressions, varying from cask-finished to fully matured Irish single malt whiskeys, with each one selected by Master Blender Alex Thomas. Included in the collection is the following:
• 33 Year Old Port
• 25 Year Old Madeiras
• 30 Year Old Madeiras
• 11 Year Old Cognac
• 11 Year Old Banyuls
• 2012 Pomerol
• 1997 Rum
• 12 Year Old Tequila
• 2012 Burgundy
• 2002 Vermouth
Master Blender Thomas commented: “It is truly a privilege to work with such rare whiskeys in The Causeway Collection. They are the fruits of over 400 years of Bushmills whiskey-making tradition, each expertly created and nurtured over decades. The Causeway Collection is a celebration of our passion for single malts, and these special whiskeys are our greatest treasures. At Bushmills, we continue to innovate and create new expressions to excite the whiskey community. This collection, which includes sensational liquids matured expertly over many years, is our gift to them. We are proud to build on the growing legacy of The Causeway Collection in 2022 and excited to share it with whiskey fans around the globe.”
The collection is launching worldwide in the coming months, with markets including Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, Poland and Travel Retail. All expressions are non-chill filtered and range in price, from €90 all the way to €1200. The number of bottles available per expression is currently unknown.
