Each Cù Bòcan single malt is made with lightly peated malt, and explores cask character through unusual maturations. The brand was the first to mature Scottish single malt in Japanese shochu rice wine casks – Creation #2 in 2019.
The distillery says that Creation #3 brings the tastes and smells of a Moroccan Souk to life, offering notes of rose water, black fig, tropical fruits and more. Meanwhile, Creation #4 is a nod to The Antrim Cocktail (port and Cognac), resulting in a medley of flavours including plum jam, grilled peach, and sweet campfire smoke.
Graham Nicolson, sales director, said, “We are delighted to finally be able to release these two new Creations to our customers. We’re excited for all that 2022 has in store for Cù Bòcan and looking forward to opening up the world of lightly peated whisky, whilst continuing to explore unusual and intriguing finishes”.
Bottled at 46% ABV, the range is non-chill filtered, natural in colour and carries no age statement. Creation #3 and #4 (RRP £60 each) are limited releases, each with only 4,200 bottles available worldwide.
