Australian distillery Cape Byron has announced the release of their very first single malt whiskies, with a series of celebratory events scheduled to mark the occasion.

The launch events, hosted by master distiller and co-founder Jim McEwan and co-founder and distiller Eddie Brook, will showcase all four releases. Events will be held at the distillery in Byron Bay as well as a variety of locations across Australia including Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. Tickets begin from $85 and are available through this website.

Guests attending are said to be given the opportunity to try all four expressions showcased, as well as priority access to the whisky before they are released on sale to the public. A Brookie’s G&T will also be available to guests upon arrival, as well as the chance to hear stories from Brook and McEwan.

Co-founder and stiller Brook said: “We’re so excited to finally share Cape Byron Single Malt Whisky with Australian whisky fans and to showcase the range in such a meaningful and intimate setting. These events are a whisky lover’s dream and Jim McEwan is such an inspiring figure in our industry. For Jim to be able to share not only the story of our distilling journey, but his wealth of knowledge, is something unmissable for the whisky community. We are also going to have a tonne of fun and many laughs, so a night to truly remember!”

Among the releases include Cape Byron ‘The Original’ Australian Single Malt Whisky, and Cape Byron ‘Chardonnay Cask’ Australian Single Malt Whisky, an exclusive event only release. The former has an ABV of 47% and an RRP of $125, while the latter has an ABV of 48% and an RRP of $140.

The distillery joined the B Corp community earlier this year, having been certified for its social and environmental performances.
