Eagle-eyed whisky-lovers may have noticed that Compass Box Scotch Whiskymakers recently announced the latest iteration of two of their most popular drams. While the same liquid is contained within the bottles, the newly-renamed Artist Blend and Glasgow Blend are now on shelves with brand-new labels and a fresh look.
Whether these drams are sipped neat, on the rocks, or in a cocktail, Compass Box is the first to encourage creativity in drinking its whisky. In fact, Compass Box has prepared a number of suggested cocktail recipes for its whiskies, in conjunction with two of the previous winners of its very own bartending competition, The Circle – Rosey Mitchell and Manacháin Monaghan.
For this week’s cocktail, we’re sharing one such recipe: designed with Compass Box’s peaty Glasgow Blend in mind, the Mamie Taylor is the Compass Box reincarnation of a lost Scotch cocktail. Described as ‘super-refreshing, simple and quick to make’, this quick fix is just the thing for the start of the weekend.
