The world's largest cork processor, Corticeira Amorim, is paying tribute to its global workforce and reinforcing its commitment to sustainability as it marks its 150th anniversary.

Founded by the Amorim family in Portugal in 1870, the company now has 4,431 employees in more than 40 countries and sells to more than 100 countries, with global turnover hitting €763 million (£639 million) in 2018.

The business is planning a series of in-house and external projects to mark the milestone, based around topics such as innovation, sustainability, history, community and education. It has also planned a rebrand to coincide with the anniversary, including a new Amorim logo.

A spokesman for Corticeira Amorim said: "We will be paying tribute to all our employees in Portugal and around the world who, in conjunction with the Amorim family, dedicate their skills, talent and commitment to this shared goal of creating value in harmony with nature."
