Blended Scotch brand Cutty Sark has announced its first ready-to-drink (RTD) product. A canned version of Cutty Sark's "signature serve", the new release is a whisky and ginger ale highball.
Stephen Woodcock, master blender at Cutty Sark, commented: “The Cutty Sark & Ginger Ale Highball is the latest chapter in our 100-year legacy of pushing boundaries and embracing new possibilities. It offers whisky lovers — and anyone after a simple yet elevated drink — a refreshing, convenient way to enjoy the iconic taste of Cutty Sark, wherever their adventures take them.”
Cutty Sark says the RTD highball "enhances" its Original whisky's vanilla and citrus notes through the sweet, spicy flavours of ginger ale. The product has garnered recent acclaim: Cutty Sark & Ginger Ale Highball was awarded a gold medal in the premix category at the World Drinks Awards 2025.
The release is part of the growing availability of RTD cocktails and canned whisky-and-mixer offerings. Cutty Sark joins various whisky brands leaning into this trend, including Jack Daniel's longstanding collaboration with Coca Cola and The Glenlivet's foray into bottled cocktails with its Twist and Mix range.
Smaller brands are also exploring the ready-to-drink world; earlier this year, Andrew Faulkner explored how US-based distilleries are making RTDs as a way to sell spirit while they work on their first whiskeys.
The Cutty Sark & Ginger Ale Highball is available now in the US via select retailers at RRP US$9.99 for a pack of four cans. It will launch in further countries, including Portugal and Bulgaria, this summer.
