A date has been announced for the next Distillers One of One charity auction, in partnership with Sotheby's, which is held every two years. The next auction will take place on 10 October 2025 at Hopetoun House in Scotland.
The auction was created by the Distillers’ Charity, the philanthropic arm of the Worshipful Company of Distillers, and the 2025 edition will mark the third Distillers One of One auction to date. Launched in 2021, the event offers whisky collectors the opportunity to bid on fine and rare Scotch whiskies.
The Distillers One of One auction donates 100 per cent of the hammer price from all auction sales to its charity partners — so far, £4.2 million has been raised. The main beneficiary is the the Distillers' Charity's Youth Action Fund, an initiative that aims to transform the life chances of young people aged 16–25 in Scotland.
More than 35 donors from Scotch brands and distilleries have been confirmed so far for the 2025 event. Each donated lot in the auction is one of a kind.
Beanie Geraedts-Espey, managing director of Distillers One of One, commented: "We’re thrilled that over thirty-five companies have already confirmed their participation in the 2025 auction, reflecting both the success of our past Distillers One of One auctions and the dedication these brands have to supporting our charitable cause.
"We’ve had a glimpse of some of the lots in progress, and we’re incredibly excited — and deeply grateful — for the remarkable thought, craftsmanship, and time poured into these extraordinary creations.”
Lot donors for the 2025 auction include Arbikie Distillery, That Boutique-y Whisky Company, Berry Bros & Rudd, House of Hazelwood, Glen Grant, and Suntory Global Spirits.
Cain Hayward-Hughes, senior global creative manager prestige malts at Suntory Global Spirits, commented: "For Suntory Global Spirits, the Distillers One of One is not just a highlight of our calendar, it’s an opportunity to unite in a shared purpose. There is something truly special about coming together with our peers to craft these unique expressions. It is a singular opportunity to showcase the rarest and most valuable of whiskies, and to celebrate our industry — all while improving the lives of those who most need support and encouragement."
