The Rock Island 14 Years Old Sherry Edition is a blend of single cask single malts from Orkney, Arran, Jura and Islay, all aged for 14 years predominantly in sherry casks. Its packaging pays homage to the spirit's island origins, featuring blue, grey and white colour palette with blue foil detailing.
It follows the original Rock Island Sherry Edition, released by independent distiller, bottler and blender Douglas Laing & Co. in 2020.
Emma Reid, Rock Island’s brand manager, said: "The Rock Island brand highlights the very best of our most proclaimed whisky-making islands. The complex flavours found throughout Scotland’s islands are incomparable and together they marry harmoniously to create a sweetly peated style that beginners and aficionados alike can enjoy.
"In Rock Island 14 Years Old Sherry Edition, we have artfully combined two of the most popular styles of Scotch whisky, sherry matured and peated, to elevate the spirit by adding fruitiness and spice alongside the signature maritime smoke."
The Rock Island 14 Years Old Sherry Edition is bottled at 46.8% ABV without added colour or chill filtration. It will be available from specialist retailers and online Europe, the Americas, and Asia Pacific (RRP £65).
The Rock Island range joined Douglas Laing's portfolio in 2015 and is designed to show off the distilling talents and styles of the Scotch islands. The core range includes a 10 Years Old Sherry Edition, plus limited releases.
