Gulliver's 47 PX Sherry Cask single malt whisky was distilled for Samuel Gulliver & Co. by the English Whisky Company in Norfolk, and the spirit was fully matured in hand-selected Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
Samuel Gulliver & Co. was founded as a wine, spirits and liqueurs merchant in 1747 by Samuel Gulliver. At its height, in the late 1800s, the company had more than 20 shops in London and the south of England, and warehouses in London and Leith.
The modern-day company aims to celebrate the quality and diversity of English whisky through its bottlings. Its range includes the rum cask-matured England's No. 6 single malt, the official whisky of England Rugby, as well as Peated Bourbon Cask, 10 Years Old Quarter Cask, and STR expressions bottled under its Gulliver's 47 brand.
Stuart Gulliver, ninth-generation descendent of Samuel Gulliver, said: "We are truly delighted to announce the release of our Gulliver's 47 PX Sherry Cask, perfect for warming up on a chilly winter's night. We can't wait to introduce this exceptional single malt English whisky to our portfolio."
Bottled at 47% ABV, without chill filtration and with natural colour, Gulliver’s 47 PX Sherry Cask is available for £79 at www.samuelgulliver.com and through specialist retailers.
