The 2022 winter release comprises 10 whiskies from Scotland, Japan and France – and one Pacific rum

A French whisky and a Fijian rum are among the line-up in the latest seasonal collection from British independent bottler and spirits retailer Berry Bros. & Rudd.

The London-based company's 2022 winter release comprises eight Scotch single malt whiskies from distilleries including Blair Athol, Linkwood and Glen Garioch, as well as expressions from France's Celtic Whisky Distillerie, the producer of Glann ar Mor whisky, and Chichibu, one of Japan's most sought-after whisky brands.

Alongside whisky, this seasonal release also includes a sugarcane spirit: Fiji Rum, a hybrid of Jamaica's traditional funk and the grassier rhum agricole.

Berry Bros. & Rudd's reserve spirits manager Doug McIvor said: “Every quarterly release is centred around celebrating the finest quality spirits and producers from around the world and bringing them together in a collection that covers a breadth of flavour profiles and style, giving our customers the opportunity to try new spirits with confidence.

“Looking at the 2022 winter release, we are especially honoured to be granted access to the rare liquid that is Japanese whisky. Given its rising popularity in recent years, we were thrilled to accept a cask from Chichibu, not only for its rarity but outstanding quality.”

The 2022 winter release – Blair Athol 2012 (£60), Dailuaine 2009 (£75), Linkwood 2011 Oloroso Finish (£95), Williamson 2013 Moscatel Barrel (£96), Blair Athol 2008 Tokaji Gonchi Finish (£105), Kornog 2006 (£160), Fiji Rum 2010 (£120), Glen Garioch 1988 (£450) and Chichibu 2014 (£475), can be purchased via the Berry Bros. & Rudd website from 5 January 2023.

In October 2022, Berry Bros. & Rudd unveiled new additions to its Exceptional Casks series alongside more environmentally friendly packaging for the range.
