Every bottle produced also contains a breakdown of the whisky making process, in order to further elaborate on the company’s enlightenment philosophy. Batch No.003 will be available in several global markets from April including: the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France. An extension to the Asian market will occur in May, with the set RSP at £60 across all markets.
The producer described the whisky as having notes of warm honey and Alphonso mango with cocoa on the nose, and papaya with red berries and grapes harmonised with sugar almonds on the palate.
Batch No.001 of the Warehouse Two collection released in March 2021 with just 3,600 bottles available and brought back five different cask styles. The second batch released later in the year with a marginally lower ABV of 48.5% in comparison to the 49.7% ABV of the first.
Master whisky maker Gregg Glass said on the release: “With expectation high following the popularity of the first two releases in the Collection, we knew we needed to deliver something special with this third release, without compromising the approach we’ve been striving to adopt. As such, when personally hand selecting casks for this edition, I wanted to push the boundaries further to create a beautifully balanced single malt which delivered both freshness and complexity in character. I believe Batch No. 003 is another true one off for Fettercairn.”
