Glen Scotia Distillery has gifted a bespoke bottle of its 25 Years Old single malt whisky to King Charles III. The King was presented with the bottle during his visit to Campbeltown on 3 July 2025.
The bespoke bottling is engraved with the words: "To celebrate the royal visit of King Charles to Campbeltown 3rd July 3025".
The chosen expression, Glen Scotia 25 Years Old, was matured in American oak casks and finished in first-fill bourbon barrels. Glen Scotia says it represents the signature Campbeltown style. The expression was a category winner in the Scotland round of the World Whiskies Awards 2025.
Iain McAlister, Glen Scotia distillery manager, commented: “It’s a tremendous honour to welcome His Majesty to Campbeltown. His visit not only recognises the town’s historical significance, but also its vibrant whisky-making community.
“We are proud to gift the King a bespoke bottling of our 25 Year Old to celebrate this special moment, a whisky that reflects the depth of character and craftsmanship which define Glen Scotia and Campbeltown.”
Once the Victorian whisky capital of the world, Campbeltown is now Scotland's smallest whisky-producing region. In recent years it has seen a resurgence, with multiple new distilleries in development, including Dál Riata, Witchburn, and Machrihanish.
