The Cadboll Estate 15 Years Old is the third release in the range, which has been spearheaded by Glenmorangie's director of whisky creation Dr Bill Lumsden and which is said to share the "taste and terroir" of the Highland distillery's homeland.
Glenmorangie's Cadboll Estate is located close to the distillery on the Easter Ross peninsula. Each release in the series is produced using barley from the estate, planted and harvested to Lumsden's specifications, which is then mashed and distilled at the distillery.
The 15-year-old comprises spirit produced with barley from two separate harvests that has been aged it in ex-bourbon casks, with a small proportion then finished in ex-Amontillado sherry casks.
Lumsden said: "Created at Glenmorangie from field to glass, our Cadboll Estate series captures the true essence of our Highland world for whisky lovers to experience, wherever they happen to be.
"Including a parcel of whisky finished in casks seasoned with Amontillado, my favourite sherry, the third Glenmorangie Cadboll Estate release adds wondrous sherried hints to our barley’s unique flavour. Soft and rich, with notes of deeply sweet spice, toffee, almonds, and clove, this whisky celebrates the spirit, flavour, and terroir of our homeland in a deliciously different way."
The new Glenmorangie Cadboll Estate release will be exclusively available in the UK from 27 April via glenmorangie.com and at the distillery visitor centre (recommended price £75). It will be available more widely in the UK and in local markets from 4 May.
Glenmorangie launched a second distilling facility, The Lighthouse, in 2021 to enable more experimentation with its famously soft and light spirit.
