Like most things during the past 12 months, the Icons of Whisky 2021 regional winner announcement has taken on a new form to adapt to a Covid-19 world.
In a first for the Icons of Whisky, the American regional winners results have been broadcast in a virtual awards ceremony online. The award winners were announced on Facebook and YouTube at 12:30pm Central Time (6:30pm GMT).
Run by the team at Whisky Magazine, the Icons of Whisky awards celebrate the industry's best and brightest people, places and products.
Anita Ujszaszi, World Whiskies Awards director, said: "After an incredibly challenging year it has been wonderful to witness the perseverance of the whisky industry. We have seen new and creative developments and innovation in the face of unexpected restrictions, and the resilience of those celebrated here is second to none."
