The limited-edition expression features a customer label and packaging that pays homage to the two companies' founders, Jack Daniel and Bruce McLaren. It will be available from May 2023 in select markets around the world where Formula 1 races are held.
The spirit for the McLaren Racing limited edition is classic Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Tennessee Whiskey with a mash bill of 80 per cent corn, eight per cent rye, and 12 per cent malted barley and bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
The release coincides with the 60th anniversary of McLaren Racing, which was founded by racing driver Bruce McLaren in 1963. It entered its first Formula One face in 1966 and has since won 20 Formula 1 World Championships, 183 Formula 1 grand prix, three Indianapolis 500 titles, and the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race in its first attempt.
To celebrate the partnership and the limited edition, the Jack Daniel's and McLaren Racing teams have collaborated on exclusive experiences and content, including some featuring the team's current Formula 1 drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Sophia Angelis, Jack Daniel's senior vice president and global managing director, said: "McLaren and Jack Daniel’s are two of the most iconic brands known around the world, and we’re excited to celebrate our partnership with a special bottle that nods to our shared spirit of independence, authenticity and boldness."
Louise McEwen, executive director of brand and marketing at McLaren Racing, added: "In our 60th year we are marking our team’s great legacy, started by Bruce McLaren. This limited-edition bottle is another fantastic way to share these celebrations with our fans, remembering both Bruce and Jack – two distinguished founders."
