Making it highly exclusive and collectable, world renowned colour masters at the Pantone Color Institute™ have created a uniquely bold shade of purple for the packaging design of The Macallan Edition No.5.
The whisky inside is every bit as unique; every year, a selection of oak casks is identified from all of those maturing at The Macallan Distillery to produce a new Edition.
The fifth in its annual series of limited editions, The Macallan Edition No.5, is matured in 100% American oak casks, which have been handpicked for their colour to deliver a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky with an intriguingly intense flavour and beautifully pale amber hue.
Inspired by a coming together of whisky making mastery and colour expertise and insight, The Macallan Edition No.5 has been matured, nurtured and developed to offer a whisky with a delicious aroma of vanilla and toffee with notes of oak, nutmeg, ginger, lemon basil and pear.
On the palate, The Macallan Edition No.5 is both fresh and sweet, with caramel moving into poached peaches and ripe pear, quickly followed by a toffee sweetness with light oak spices in the form of nutmeg and hints of ginger in the background.
