Nc’nean launches Quiet Rebels series with ‘Annabel’ expression

The net-zero whisky distillery will celebrate its team members through the series

26 October 2021

Nc’nean has announced the first release of its ‘Quiet Rebels’, a new series of expressions which are curated and chosen by individuals from its 14-strong team.

Nc’nean is known for its sustainability credentials including its recent net zero verification, and this new series is all about the people who make the distillery what it is. Each whisky, chosen by the relevant individual team member, will reflect their favourite flavours in the liquid and their personality in the packaging.

‘Annabel’ is the debut expression in the series, representing Nc’nean’s founder Annabel Thomas. A limited release of just 4,504 bottles, ‘Annabel’ is aged in a combination of ex-Tokaji barrels, which Thomas said had been in her sights for a while due to their wonderful sweetness, and ex-bourbon barrels, another of Annabel’s favourites, because of the flavours of coconut, toasted vanilla and tropical fruits they produce.

Thomas herself commented, “I am so excited to bring our first seasonal release and a new series of whisky into the world. The Quiet Rebels series celebrates the team that make Nc’nean what it is! A group of passionate, skilled and adventurous people who are the driving force behind our mission to pioneer sustainable production and do things differently. … It’s my turn to go first with this release, but I can’t wait to see what the rest of our amazing team come up with in years to come!”

The Quiet Rebels Annabel seasonal release (48.5% ABV) is available now in the UK on and through select retailers (RRP £65.95), and will be available across various European markets as well. Nc’nean plans to release subsequent expressions in the Quiet Rebel’s series each autumn.
