New addition to Benromach's Contrasts range

Benromach Contrasts: Triple Distilled is a departure in style from the distillery's signature 10 Years Old whisky

26 October 2022

Benromach Distillery has announced the latest addition to its Contrasts range: Benromach Triple Distilled.

The limited-edition expression has passed once through the Speyside distillery's wash still and twice through the spirit still, which Benromach says has delivered a lighter and fruitier whisky which complements its maturation in first-fill bourbon barrels. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered.

The Contrasts range features whiskies that are designed to depart from the traditional Benromach profile. Previous releases have included Organic, Peat Smoke, and Cara Gold Malt. For the Triple Distilled, the distillery team used the signature Benromach 10 Years Old as a benchmark.

Keith Cruickshank, Benromach's distillery manager, said: “We triple-distilled a small batch of this spirit in 2011 and after a little more than a decade, we are ready to share it. Benromach Triple Distilled retains our customary, subtle smokiness but the extra distillation, combined with a bourbon cask delivers a slightly sweeter single malt with tropical fruit notes such as pineapple, banana and coconut.

“And, like all of our whiskies, our small team of distillers created this expression by hand to produce a malt with genuine character.”

Benromach Contrasts: Triple Distilled has a recommended price of GB£49.99. More details can be found at www.benromach.com.
