Created with the intention of embodying the unique spirit of Islay, Elixir Distillers has launched the Port Askaig 12 Years Old Autumn Limited Edition.
The expression provides another escape into the world of peaty Islay whisky and is a blend of liquid from nine refill American oak hogsheads, five Oloroso sherry butts and three solera sherry butts. The combination has created a single malt medley of smoke, fruit and coastal notes.
To showcase its distinct Islay character, Port Askaig 12 Year Old Autumn Edition is bottled at 45.8%. 9,000 bottles of the limited-edition release have been produced, and will be available from October 2020 at an RRP of £72.95.
