The bottle marks the first ‘Distillery Select’ release, which has been chosen by the team at Powerscourt and will be sold exclusively by them, through their online shop and in store.
The 10-year-old single grain has been finished for one and half years in two barrels which previously held The Wicklow Brewery’s Imperial Stout.
Bottled at 49% ABV, the producer has described the drink as having notes of freshly whipped cream, latte coffee and sticky toffee on the nose, forest fruits and malty biscuit notes on the mouth, and concluded with a mouth-coating and sweet with warming fruity spice finish.
Due to the limited number of bottles available of the Distillery Select release – just 552 available – Powerscourt have placed a limit of one bottle per person when purchasing. At the time of writing there are just 78 bottles remaining on their website. RRP for the bottles come in at €95.
Powerscourt recently released their second Estate Series Irish Whiskey titled 'The Italian Gardens,' a limited edition blended Fercullen Irish Whiskey.
