Redemption Whiskey has announced Redemption 18-Year-Old Bourbon, a limited-edition bourbon and the latest expression in the brand’s successful Ancients Series.
Aged for nearly two decades at the MGP (Midwest Grain Products) Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, Redemption 18-Year-Old Bourbon was rediscovered and bottled by master blender Alan Kennedy. The bourbon was aged in charred American oak and non-chill filtered to preserve all nuances of the spirit’s character and complexity.
Kennedy commented: “Redemption 18-Year-Old Bourbon is one of the rarest and most complex expressions we’ve ever had the privilege to release. Redemption is a brand about character and soul. Crafting a bourbon of this age and quality is incredibly rare, and when I tasted the liquid, I knew it deserved to be shared. It’s a proud moment for both me and Redemption—and an opportunity to showcase the extraordinary potential of our oldest stock for Redemption fans, bourbon collectors and newcomers alike.”
Tasting notes provided by Redemption Whiskey say this release has notes of cherry jam and cinnamon on the nose, followed by sweetcorn and leather on the palate. The taste then concludes with a medium to long finish with hints of oak and vanilla.
Limited to just 2400 bottles, Redemption 18-Year-Old Bourbon (SRP $399.99) is expected to sell out quickly. The release will be available for pre-order in store and online at the Reserve Bar beginning on 15 June.
