The new release from Speyside distillery Tamdhu, which is the only Scotch whisky distillery to fully mature its liquid exclusively in oloroso sherry casks, is matured in first-fill sherry casks made with wood from North America and crafted over six years in Spain. Quercus alba is the American white oak.

The distillery says Quercus Alba Distinction delivers warming cinnamon and vanilla notes, with sharp citrus, dates, and chocolate, and more.

Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu distillery manager, commented, “Quercus Alba Distinction is a celebration of the very best in American oak and the delicate flavour profile it gives our bold spirit.”

Tamdhu Quercus Alba Distinction (48% ABV) will be available exclusively at specialist retailers in the UK, USA, Germany, Netherlands, Asia and Australia, for an RRP of £64.99.
