The Renaissance Series, launched in 2019, is meant to celebrate the “true global Renaissance of Teeling, Dublin and Irish whiskey”. This expression is described as characterised by fruit and spice notes.
The fourth bottling of The Renaissance Series consists of 18-year-old single malt that was aged initially in ex-bourbon barrels for over 16 years before being finished in ex-red Pineau des Charentes casks. (Pineau de Charentes is a fortified wine from western France, to which Cognac is added before aging.)
Previous releases in the series were honoured with awards such as Gold at both the 2020 International Wine and Spirits Competition and the 2020 Irish Whiskey Masters, as well as the recent honour of the ‘Irish Whiskey Single Malt Master’ at the 2021 Irish Whiskey Masters. Teeling Whiskey also won ‘World’s Best Single Malt’ at the 2019 World Whiskies Awards, and four ‘World’s Best Irish Whiskey’ honours at the 2021 World Whiskies Awards.

Limited to just 9,000 bottles, The Renaissance 18 Years Old (46% ABV) is bottled with no chill filtration, like all Teeling whiskeys, and is available in specialty shops across Ireland and globally with an RRP of €140.
