The distillery says that Recuerdo, Spanish for ‘treasured memento’, is inspired by memories of Cognac and is silk-smooth, complex, and full of fruits, nuts and spices. Though ex-sherry casks do influence the flavour, this whisky is blending-focused.
The Lakes Distillery’s whisky maker, Dhavall Gandhi, said: “Like the same beautiful landscape painted season after season,...our house style, The Whiskymaker’s Reserve, is designed to be recreated over time.
“In contrast, each of The Whiskymaker’s Editions represents a different art form...they are singular expressions of creative and artistic freedom that convey emotions, ideas and feelings through the language of whisky.”
The Whiskymaker’s Editions: Recuerdo (57% ABV) is non-chill-filtered and bottled at the natural colour. A limited edition of only 900 individually numbered bottles is available from specialist whisky retailers in London.
