Tomatin is turning to the vineyards of Italy for its latest collection of single malts.
The Italian Collection comprises three expressions finished in a range of Italian wine casks. All three feature the same single malt whisky – laid down in 2010 and matured in a mixture of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks – as their base and have been named for their finishing casks: the Marsala Edition, Amarone Edition, and Barolo Edition. Each expression is bottled non-chill filtered at 46% ABV.
The Italian Collection is the third country-focused series from Scottish Highland distillery Tomatin, folllowing the French Collection in 2021 and the Portuguese Collection in 2022.
Scott Adamson, blender and global brand ambassador at Tomatin Distillery, said: “Italy has a historic, unrivalled passion for single malt Scotch whisky, so this latest trio of releases is a tribute to that longstanding relationship with a unique take on our traditional Highland malt.
“We wanted to capture the essence of Italian wine, its history, nature, landscape, and traditions and weave it into our whisky, all embodied within a single glass. Each expression in this collection is a testament to the seamless blending of these two worlds, offering a truly exceptional tasting experience for whisky lovers.”
The Italian Collection is available from tomatin.com and select specialist retailers worldwide, each with a recommended price of £70.
