Tomintoul Distillery has announced its latest single malts: Tomintoul 14 Years Old Cognac Cask Finish and Tomintoul 15 Years Old Madeira Cask Finish. Both released in limited-edition runs, the expressions have been finished in casks selected by master distiller Robert Fleming.
Distilled in 2009, Tomintoul 14 Years Old Cognac Cask Finish has been finished in hand-picked French casks. The flavour profile supplied by Tomintoul highlights sweetness and nuts, with apricot, vanilla, dark chocolate, and pink peppercorn notes.
Tomintoul 15 Years Old Madeira Cask Finished was distilled in 2008 and matured in ex-bourbon American oak before finishing in casks sourced from the Madeira islands. The brand describes the expression as “sweet and rich” with notes of maple syrup, brambles, and coffee.
Based in the Cairngorms National Park, Tomintoul Distillery was founded in 1965, and has since established a signature range of age-statement single malt whiskies. The two new releases join Tomintoul’s previous cask-finished whiskies, which include a Merlot cask finish and a Pinot Noir cask finish.
Tomintoul 14 Years Old Cognac Cask Finish and Tomintoul 15 Years Old Madeira Cask Finish are available now from select independent and specialist UK retailers.
