The single malt was created by master distiller Robert Fleming, who is celebrating his 30th year as the manager at Tomintoul Distillery.
Tomintoul Cigar Malt is bottled at 43% ABV and selected by Robert from an intricate combination of Tomintoul single malts from specially selected vintages, which he has balanced with peated Tomintoul single malt. Each of these individual single malts has been either matured fully or finished in hand-selected Oloroso sherry butts, sourced from the partner bodegas in Andalucia, Spain.
On the expression, Robert said: “I am incredibly proud to release this new expression of Tomintoul, as I personally selected the range of Tomintoul single malts that make up this extremely complex and unique whisky. The Tomintoul Cigar Malt has the perfect balance of sweetness and spice, with a rich, smoky background.”
