Allt Gleann, the second release in the distillery's Legacy Series, will be release on 16 July 2021. Named after the stream that flows beside the distillery on the Isle of Skye, the small-batch whisky will be bottled at 46% ABV and drawn from no more than 30 casks.
It follows the sell-out success of Torabhaig's first expression, Legacy Series 2017, released in February 2021. The Allt Gleann will be released in larger quantities in four batches throughout 2021 and 2022 and will be available through independent spirits retailers and the distillery's on-site shop.
The second legal distillery on Skye, and the first to open on the island in almost 200 years, Torabhaig has been making whisky since January 2017 in a style described as 'well-tempered peat'. The distillery uses traditional wooden washbacks for fermentation and twin copper pot stills to create its liquids.
The Legacy Series is designed to capture different stages of its whisky's maturation. Four releases are planned in the series, ahead of the release of the Torabhaig 10 Years Old Single Malt Whisky, planned for 2028.
