Glenmorangie has revealed two new expressions launching exclusive to its travel retail collection. Joining the lineup are the 16-year-old Glenmorangie Vindima and 21-year-old Glenmorangie Aureum.
Glenmorangie Vindima is named for the grape harvest festival on the island of Madeira, in which the island’s community comes together to harvest the ripe fruit for Madeira wine. Glenmorangie’s homage to the festival is a marriage of whisky aged in bourbon casks with whisky finished in Malmsey casks.
Glenmorangie Aureum has been aged in bourbon casks for its 21-year maturation. The distillery says the whisky is inspired by a midsummer’s day— reflected in its name, the Latin for ‘gold’.
Glenmorangie master blender Gillian Macdonald said: “We know that global travellers and whisky lovers are always looking for delicious new discoveries, and these new travel retail exclusives are sure to expand their flavour horizons. With rich notes of candied fruits and a sizzle of chilli and clove, Glenmorangie Vindima is a sensory celebration of Madeira’s grape harvest. And when it comes to Glenmorangie Aureum, its smooth and vibrant flavours of pear, jasmine and honey deliciously capture the sun-drenched tones of a summer’s day.”
As well as the new exclusives, Glenmorangie will bolster its travel retail collection with listings from its core range. The expanded offering will include Glenmorangie Original — recently rereleased with a new 12 Years Old age statement — 14-year-old Glenmorangie Elementa, and Glenmorangie Signet Reserve, which launched for the first time at the end of July.
Glenmorangie’s expanded range will be available in global travel retail outlets, including the brand’s boutique in Heathrow Airport Terminal 2, created in partnership with Moët Hennessy Travel Retail. Aureum (43% ABV, RRP €250) is available now at the boutique, before a global release in September. Vindima (43% ABV, RRP €105) will be available from August.
