Situated only three miles from the birth place of founder John Dewar, the Aberfeldy Distillery was built by the Dewar family in 1896. Since 1898, the Aberfeldy stills have produced single malt, although due to the demand for barley as a basic foodstuff during World War I, the distillery was closed between 1917 and 1919 and again through some of World War II.
Tours of the distillery are available,
with access to the warehouses and an education on how the whisky is double aged. An interactive exhibition is also available to explore through the distillery’s multi-media app. The distillery plays host to a welcome café and whisky lounge, with visitors given the opportunity to fill up their own bottles from hand-selected casks.Show more
