Auchentoshan Distillery was established in 1823, situated on the A28 between Glasgow and Loch Lomond. At the foot of the Kilpatrick Hills overlooking the Clyde, Auchentoshan Distillery claims to be inspired by the city. In Gaelic, Auchentoshan means 'corner of the field.'
The distillery has had six owners, however since its acquisition by Morrison Bowmore Distillers Limited in 1984 it has
been refurbished extensively and welcomes visitors to tours, tastings and personal bottlings.
Auchentoshan Distillery is known for its triple-distillation, which it claims makes the whisky prone to woodiness from the cask and smoother.Show more
