Founded by David Baker, a former biochemist, Bakery Hill Distillery was established in 1998 in North Balwyn, Victoria.
Bakery Hill produced its first spirit in 2000 and the first single malt in 2003. In 2008 the distillery completed the installation of a 2000 litre brewery, giving complete control to Bakery Hill from milling to bottling.
With its location in southern Australia, Bakery
Hill has to deal with much higher temperatures in comparison with Scotland, which it claims plays its part in the spirit's maturation and flavouring from the wood.Show more
