Bruichladdich Distillery was founded by dynastic whisky family, the Harveys in 1881. It is situated on the shore of Loch Indaal, on the Rinns of Islay, the westernmost part of Islay. Its construction from stone and efficient layout set it apart from other distilleries on the island, which were often converted farm buildings. More of the original Victorian machinery is still is use today.
In
2011, the Bruichladdich Distillery began producing an an artisan gin, The Botanist.
Since 2012, the distillery is owned by Rémy Cointreau.
Tours of the distillery are available through January to October.Show more
