Glen Keith was founded in 1957 by Chivas brothers, with an eye on supplying the American appetite for blended Scotch. The most popular blends being sold in America at that time were of a light, easy drinking style and so Glen Keith started producing triple distilled whiskies, which were unusual at the time in Speyside. The resultant spirit was light and perfect for blends, hence it became a major constituent
in the Chivas Brothers blends: Chivas Regal, Passport and 100 Pipers (later Black Watch).
Glen Keith was mothballed in 1999 and shortly afterwards, in 2001, Chivas Brothers was sold by Seagram to Pernod Ricard, who began running spirit again in April 2013.Show more
