A former brewery at the heart of Speyside, Glen Moray was converted into a distillery in 1897. Closed for 13 years from 1910, it was revived by Macdonald & Muir, owners of Glenmorangie who went on running the distillery for more than 80 years. In 2004, Glenmorangie was absorbed by Louis Vuitton, and Glen Moray subsequently passed to the French company La Martiniquaise. Production is expanding,
though it seems likely that the bulk of Glen Moray's output will now be used in the owner's flagship Label 5 blended whisky, most prevalent in the Far East.Show more
