The Lochside distillery was founded in 1957 by Joseph Hobbs on the site of the old Deuchar Brewery. It ran as both a grain and malt distillery under MacNab Distilleries Ltd until November of 1973, when it was acquired by Spanish company Pedro Domecq Sherry. Under the Spanish ownership, Lochside became a component of the Macnab’s blend. In 1992, Pedro Domecq was acquired by Allied Distillers and
Lochside was closed shortly after. The distillery was dismantled in 2004-2005.
The only official bottling of Lochside was a 10 year-old released in 1991, the year before the distillery was closed.Show more
