A record for Belgium

Whisky Live Belgium was held for the first time recently and it attracted 2,000 visitors
After two successful Belgian Whisky Festivals, the first official Whisky Live Belgium took place in the stylish Salon de L'Harmonie in Verviers and was judged a great success.About 2,000 visitors were welcomed through the doors during the course of the weekend, a record for a show of this kind in Belgium.Forty five distilleries and six independent bottlers together presented more than 300 whiskies to an enthusiastic and appreciative audience.The two blending sessions of Friday and Saturday by John Glaser and Richard Paterson were the highlight of the festival.The different tastings held by Dave Broom and Martine Nouet, including a ‘whisky vs. rum challenge,’ with some special editions were also highly appreciated by the malt lovers from all over the country.Many rare bottling in a special ‘old timer’ area were also available for tasting.A great festival that is becoming a not to be missed date in the whisky calendar in Europe.
