Held annually, Ardbeg day celebrates the Scottish distillery in a variety of mediums, including at the distillery itself, online and events around the globe. The company had tough times during the 1980s and 1990s with threats of closure, before being purchased by Glenmorangie Company in 1997 – effectively saving the company. Since then, the company has become an established brand with a passionate following.
Ardbeg have assured that all celebratory events will comply with local COVID guidance, with the possibilities of limited attendances and numbers in order to ensure the safety of fans.
Ardbeg’s distillery manager Colin Gordon had the following to say about Ardbeg day: “This year will be my first physical Ardbeg Day. We know not everybody can make it to Islay, so we’re delighted to be broadcasting all the day’s antics online too. Whether at the Distillery or at home, we hope lots of you rock up, punked out and ready to party come 4th June!”
